Besting his own record, Robert Marchand covered 26.952 km (or 16.747 miles) in 60 minutes on January 31st, 2014 at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines velodrome in Montigny-le-Bretoneux.
Encouraged by 300 supporters playing the accordion and chanting "Go Robert!," the 102 year old beat his previous record of 24.25 km, set two years ago. "It was good but in the end it started to get hard," he told reporters.
"I'm happy as a fish in water," he continued.
